Yang is a researcher, interactive media artist, designer, and filmmaker. She is currently pursuing a DPhil in Experimental Psychology at the University of Oxford, under the supervision of Professor Charles Spence. Her research focuses on integrating eating experience design to improve multisensory film storytelling and immersive experiences.

She graduated from University College London with an MArch in Design for Performance and Interaction and from New York University Shanghai with a B.Sc in Interactive Media Arts, with a minor in Film and New Media. Her films and interactive art pieces have been exhibited in London, New York, Abu Dhabi, and Shanghai. Prior to her current research, she worked as a film director and visual designer for major TV shows and film company in China, as well as a UX designer.

She is always interested in exploring how immersive storytelling enhances user experience, interaction, and communication, and vice versa.
